This program has a surprising amount of features for freeware. Most video conversion freeware tools have a limited number of presets, options, and input formats. Free 3GP Converter has support for more than fifteen of the most popular video formats, meaning that you will be able to convert almost any video file you want into something your mobile device can use. However, 3GP is rarely used at all except in very old devices, so make sure that your phone uses 3GP before installing this program.

Output is also completely dynamic, and there are many options to choose from, going down to even the compression codec to use. There isn't much to complain about in terms of the input and output parameters. Additionally, the transcoding process is multithreaded, so it's faster than some of the older converters that use a single thread in their processing (unless you're using an extremely old computer).

One of the more interesting options this suite has to offer is the HTTP option. This lets the user download a video from the internet, even from "non-download" sources like YouTube (but not more secure sources like Hulu). It then automatically converts the video to 3GP for mobile viewing. In short, Free 3GP Converter was a nice surprise and is packed with features to do everything promised and more.
